In the UK UK: October 1987, £499 (Amiga 500)

For a huge swathe of British gamers the Amiga 500 was the machine, the step up from an 8-bit that made arcade conversions look and sound like the real thing. Its custom chips handled graphics and sound the ST could only envy, and Commodore's Batman and Cartoon Classics bundles put one under countless Christmas trees. The demoscene pushed it further still. The games below are the heart of that library, and complete boxed copies now carry a premium.
