Nintendo's little purple lunchbox went its own way again, storing games on proprietary mini-discs and shipping with a carry handle that made it feel almost like a toy. Priced to undercut the PS2 and Xbox, it leaned on Nintendo's own brilliance: Super Smash Bros. Melee, The Wind Waker and Metroid Prime. Its controller is still cited as a favourite. The library is smaller but deep, and the games below are the keepers, with certain first-party titles now quietly valuable.
