Nintendo's console conquered America, yet in Britain it was very much the underdog. Distributed here by Mattel and arriving late to a market already hooked on the Speccy, C64 and Sega's Master System, it never ruled UK bedrooms the way it did across the Atlantic. That relative scarcity is the collector's angle now, since PAL boxed carts sold in smaller numbers here than in the States. The games below are the classics worth hunting.
